We are working with a well-established and expanding manufacturing organisation in Northamptonshire that is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. The Opportunity:
This position plays a central role within the finance function, taking ownership of group financial accounting and reporting activities. Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide technical expertise, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and drive best practice across financial processes and controls.
You will manage the full month-end cycle and oversee a small team, working within a wider collaborative finance department. The role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, statutory compliance, and strategic support.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and delivery of the monthly reporting cycle, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
Provide detailed analysis and commentary to support senior management decision-making.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of balance sheet reconciliations, including oversight of fixed assets, leases and depreciation
Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards where required.
Manage the statutory audit process and liaise with external auditors
Prepare technical accounting papers on complex or judgement-based matters.
Maintain and enhance group accounting policies and procedures
Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks.
Support wider financial risk management processes
About You:
ACA or ACCA qualified
Strong technical accounting knowledge with post-qualification experience
Experience resolving complex accounting matters
Highly proficient in Excel
Strong communicator with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
Well organised, resilient and capable of managing competing deadlines
Background in either industry finance or a mid-tier practice environment
