The Finance and Procurement Operations Team (FPO) is part of HMRC's Unity Business Service (UBS), providing services to HMRC and the Valuation Office Agency as part of the wider Chief Finance Officer Group. The team delivers a full range of financial and accounting services across HMRC, supporting procurement activities and finance operations.
We currently have 2 vacancies for Administrative Officers on the Tactical Buying Team. The team is a multifunctional group whose main responsibility is to assist with procurement activities, processing requests to source goods and services outside of catalogues.
Responsibilities
* Processing various request/service types.
* Obtaining quotes from suppliers.
* Directing customers to existing arrangements/guidance or myBUY catalogues.
* Adhering to guidance to ensure processes are completed correctly.
* Using various systems and platforms on a daily basis.
* Maintaining a shared mailbox and actioning requests within a set timeframe.
* Ensuring the needs of internal customers are understood and met.
* Supporting HMRC stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Interacting with colleagues and suppliers to provide a professional and efficient customer service.
* Actively contribute to team performance, identify and mitigate risks and issues.
* Become proficient in the use of various systems and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
* Flexible and collaborative approach, including potential work with other Finance and Procurement Operations teams when required.

* Ability to use various IT systems/platforms.

* Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes.

* Strong IT skills and the ability to operate as part of a professional and friendly operational team.

* Willingness to be involved in continuous improvement activities and to support the team and colleagues.
* Working firmly within set standards, rules and guidelines.
Application and Selection
* A 750-word Personal Statement detailing how you meet the responsibilities and essential criteria, with evidence of suitability and experience. A separate 250-word statement for Desirable Criteria where applicable. This is not essential but may be considered if scores are tied.

* Sift may be conducted on CVs; at full sift, CV and Personal Statement will be assessed, and successful candidates invited to interview. Dates may be confirmed later.
* Interviews will assess IT skills, professionalism, and practical experience and will be conducted virtually via video link.
