Field Service Technician SPX Cooling Technologies

Ready to take your technical skills on the road and become a key part of a global engineering leader? SPX Cooling Technologies is expanding its UK Service team and were looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Service Technician to support installations, maintenance and inspection work on cooling towers across the UK and beyond.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a water treatment background or a similar industrial water treatment specialistwhos keen to broaden their experience into cooling tower service, OEM products and field-based technical work.
Youll be the face of SPX out on site, supporting customers throughout the full lifecycle of their cooling equipment: from installation and commissioning to planned maintenance, troubleshooting and performance optimisation. With projects ranging from two-week assignments to long-term six-month deployments, no two weeks look the same.
What youll be doing
Servicing, maintaining, and installing factory-assembled cooling tower equipment on customer sites
Conducting inspections, diagnostics and corrective actions across multiple OEM cooling tower ranges
Surveying installations and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, water performance and compliance with legislation
Supporting cooling tower installation activities for UK factory sales
Assisting sales teams with competitor/product insights to support quotations and customer queries
Completing all work safely and compliantly with current Health & Safety requirements
Performing warranty repairs and providing commissioning support
Working closely with colleagues across service, sales and operations
Representing SPX professionalism and work standards on every visit, helping identify cross-selling or new service opportunities
What were looking for
Experience in industrial water treatment or Cooling Towers
Good working knowledge of cooling towers (service, OEM or general operational understanding)
Experience carrying out water testing, dosing, Legionella control and general water chemistry tasks
Practical mindset with the ability to work independently on site
Confident communicator who can coordinate with customers, subcontractors and internal teams
Able to work in confined spaces, at height, and carry out manual handling tasks
Full UK driving licence and willing to travel extensively across the UK, with some overseas assignments
Flexibility to work overtime or adjust schedules at short notice
Computer literate, organised and self-motivated
