About the role
We are now recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join us. This role will deliver a high standard of payroll administration for colleagues across the Group, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll activities. Working within Workday, the role holder will be responsible for managing all colleague lifecycle transactions, administering statutory and company payments, processing expenses, completing statutory returns, and ensuring that all payroll‑related activities meet strict deadlines. They will also support pension administration, including auto‑enrolment, monthly provider submissions, and ongoing maintenance of accurate member records.
The role holder will act as a key point of contact for colleague queries raised through Workday Help, handling each query confidently, sensitively, and with a strong commitment to confidentiality. The person in post will work closely with colleagues and managers at all levels, interpreting policies and providing clear guidance to support effective decision‑making. They will maintain accurate data within Workday, carry out system testing following upgrades, and produce management information when required.
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for adhering to HMRC legislation, data protection requirements, internal governance processes, and all legal obligations related to payroll and expenses. The role holder will bring sound judgement to complex or non‑standard queries, following documented processes while applying their expertise to ensure appropriate outcomes.
We operate on a team led hybrid approach with at least 2 days a week in the Coventry office.

About you
You’ll have strong interpersonal and organisational skills which you’ll use to support managers and colleagues effectively across the Group. You’ll be a collaborative and committed team player who takes pride in delivering high‑quality service.
For this role you’ll need to have:
* Current or recent experience in a payroll position
* Knowledge of PAYE, N.I.C, SSP and SMP
* Strong experience within a fast-paced administrative role
* Exceptional customer service skills and organisational skills
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
Experience in these areas would be helpful:
* An understanding of pension auto enrolment
* The ability to do manual calculations
