Overview
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Community Rehab Team. The Specialist Occupational Therapist for Enablement and IMC will work across community settings, predominantly within the Craven Area, and support the wider Community Rehab Team as required. Providing clinical support and interventions to enable Home First discharges from hospital settings and provide rehab services in Craven Intermediate Care beds. The team provides specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation in intermediate care beds and in patients' own homes. This role facilitates safe and timely hospital discharges in local hospitals, in conjunction with Craven Enablement services, and ensures IMC beds are used effectively to optimise resources.
Main duties
* To undertake a supporting role to the Team Leader in managing, planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating therapy plans as part of the broad MDT.
* To provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation in the home and IMC beds.
* To act as a source of specialist knowledge and provide an advisory service to other ANHSFT therapists and MDT members in the management of Community Rehab patients.
* To lead in specialist assessment and treatment of patients within the community who may have complex and chronic presentations, determine clinical diagnosis and any therapy treatment indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
* To provide specialist training and education for all grades of staff and other health professionals in the therapeutic management of community rehab patients.
* To provide effective student training and development.

Qualifications
* Essential: Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Occupational Therapy
* Essential: State registration with the Health Care Professions Council and Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Essential: Completion of course in Professional Practice education
* Desirable: Professionally validated specialist courses; MSc modules in a relevant area; Leadership courses; Membership of professional special interest groups/organisations
Experience
* Essential: Relevant and recent experience at band 5 level in rehab, reablement, and community settings
* Essential: Relevant and recent experience across multiple specialties, ideally within rehab, acute care, and care of older people
* Essential: Experience of multidisciplinary team working and collaboration with other professions and agencies
* Essential: Experience of guideline development, implementation and audit
* Essential: Experience of clinical supervision (as supervisee and supervisor)
* Essential: Recent experience of student training
* Desirable: Experience at band 6 level; Supervisory and appraisal skills; work within an integrated team; participation in projects/service improvements; involvement in audits or research projects
