About the apprenticeship
Duties
Organisation
Work at reception, greeting visitors, answering enquiries by phone and face-to-face, and signing visitors in
Assist with pupil welfare duties, including caring for sick pupils and liaising with parents/staff
Support arrangements for school trips, events, etc.
Administration
Provide general clerical support, e.g. photocopying, filing, completing standard forms, responding to general correspondence
Maintain manual and computerised records/information management systems
Produce lists/information/data as required, e.g. pupil data
Undertake typing, word processing, and other IT-related tasks
Take notes at meetings
Sort and distribute incoming mail; prepare outgoing mail
Carry out administrative procedures
Maintain and collate pupil reports
Undertake routine administration relating to school lettings and use of school premises
Resources
Operate relevant ICT equipment/software (e.g. Word, Excel, databases, spreadsheets, internet)
Organise stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as required
Provide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils and others
Undertake routine financial administration, e.g. processing orders
Responsibilities
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection; report any concerns to the appropriate person
Be aware of and support equality and diversity, ensuring equal opportunities for all
