Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
Join NEC Software Solutions as a Senior Database Administrator responsible for delivering high‑quality Database Administration services to our clients and ensuring mission‑critical systems run smoothly.
Responsibilities
* Manage Microsoft SQL Server installations and perform new SQL Server deployments.
* Provide proactive monitoring and incident management service.
* Lead problem management to reduce repeat incidents and maintain compliance with NEC quality standards and international standards.
* Create, review and update engineering documentation such as work plans, work instructions and technical guides.
* Engage extensively with customers on both technical and non‑technical levels, presenting a professional approach to communication and interaction.
* Operate on an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota and support the DBA team through mentoring, strategic planning and collaboration with Technical Design Architects.
Qualifications
Essential
* HND/HNC or equivalent industry experience with a minimum of years in a comparable DBA role.
* Proven experience administering SQL Server 2008+ installations, including proactive monitoring, upgrades, performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies and clustered/Always On configurations.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Platform technologies and ITIL best practices.
* Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal and analytical capabilities, flexible and a current driving licence.
* Eligible for NPPV and Security Clearance.
Desirable
* Experience with automated monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, NAGIOS, CHECKMK.
* Microsoft SQL Accreditation and ITIL Practitioner certificates.
