Job Title: Property Administrator
Employer: Sheffield Diocesan Board of Finance
We are seeking to appoint a Property Administrator to join our central Property Department and support the ongoing development of clergy housing and diocesan property across Sheffield Diocese.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Diocesan Surveyor with work on clergy housing.
* Process budgets, invoices for works on diocesan properties.
* Assist the Diocesan Surveyor and liaise with incumbents, parishes, contractors, Ecclesiastical insurance and professional agents.
* Administer clergy house moves, liaise with clergy, PCCs and Finance Team.
* Coordinate invoice payments and queries with Finance Team.
* Manage Church House planned maintenance and day‑to‑day repairs.
* Deal with housing queries and speak to contractors issuing purchase orders for repairs.
* Process payment invoices.
* Administer and order gas and oil appliance servicing.
* Coordinate utility companies for invoices, bills and meter readings.
* Assist letting agents with tenancies as necessary.
* Submit and administer insurance claims.
* Assist with scheduled maintenance and liaise with contractors on timescales.
* Record weekly fire alarm tests (including fire alarm system, extinguishers, emergency lighting, signage).
* Carry out fire alarm training, Legionella water testing, fixed wire testing, lift maintenance, solar PV readings, PATs testing, and maintain gas boilers.
* May be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the role, including ordering works to the value of £1,000 and providing cover for reception at lunchtime and other times.
Education and Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard including Maths and English (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
* IT qualification demonstrating competence in Microsoft Office.
Key Knowledge
* Significant experience of working in a property environment.
* Understanding of the ethos and structures of the Church of England.
* Knowledge of standard IT products: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
* Proficiency with databases, mail merge, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, mass emailing.
* Awareness of the Church of England mission and complexities.
Experience
* Experience of using technology to support a property team.
* Experience of keeping electronic and paper‑based records, preparing reports.
* Well organised, able to maintain accurate records.
Skills and Abilities
* Experience working with others in an integrated organisation.
* Confidence working on own initiative.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills, attention to detail.
* Good communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent telephone manner.
* Excellent time management, prioritisation, multitasking.

Compensation & Benefits
* SDBF Band 6 Salary; £29,500-31,500 FTE (Depending on Experience).
* Full‑Time, 35 hours per week.
* Working Pattern Monday to Friday (08:00-16:00).
* 10% employer contribution to pension.
* Generous holiday entitlement.
* Based at Diocesan Church House in Rotherham.
