At Turning Point, we support individuals with Learning Disabilities across England. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents, helping them develop essential living skills while also growing your own career through training and support.
Where Will You Be Working?
Our Thornton services provide 24-hour care for 11 adults with Learning Disabilities and additional health needs. We focus on fostering positive relationships and creating a supportive environment. Your role will involve engaging residents in various activities, from shopping to cooking, all aimed at promoting independence.
You'll be part of a dedicated team, covering various shift patterns, including occasional night shifts. Please note: This role involves supporting individuals with complex learning disabilities and includes high levels of personal care.
Training and Development
We believe in investing in our team! You will receive comprehensive training to enhance your skills, not just in care but in other areas too, including:
* Level 2 and 3 Lead Adult Care Worker
* Level 3 Operational Team Leader
Training begins after a 6-month probation period, and you'll have a dedicated coach to guide you through your development journey.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is key! Your shifts may vary, including:
* 7:00/8:00 am to 2:30/3:30 pm
* 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm
* Occasional waking nights and weekends
Important: You must be a driver to be considered for this role.
Your Role and Responsibilities
What Will You Be Doing?
This hands-on role offers variety every day! Your responsibilities will include:
* Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
* Assisting with daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, and outings
* Organizing engaging activities both at home and in the community
* Helping residents develop life skills and personal interests
* Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
* Providing personal care and support
* Conducting manual handling as required
* Assisting with medication management
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service monitoring
