Overview Field Service Engineer (Mechanical Bias) Location: Bristol & surrounding areas (Field-Based) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £42,500 Company Bonus Company Vehicle Phone Hours: Days Role Overview - Field Service Engineer We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join our engineering team covering sites across the UK along with Europe, Asia & America. This role involves installing, maintaining, and servicing a range of specialist capital equipment used in industrial manufacturing processes, including systems associated with investment casting, autoclaves, and steam-based machinery. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving in the field and delivering high-quality technical support to customers. Key Responsibilities - Field Service Engineer * Installation, servicing, and maintenance of capital equipment at customer sites * Mechanical fault-finding and repair of systems including autoclaves, steam equipment, and associated machinery * Supporting equipment used in investment casting processes * Carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and performance * Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime * Working with a range of mechanical components including valves, pumps, pressure systems, and pipework * Supporting commissioning of new equipment and upgrades * Providing clear service reports and documentation following site visits * Maintaining strong relationships with customers through professional service and technical support * Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations Skills & Experience - Field Service Engineer * Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias * Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills * Experience working with capital equipment or industrial machinery * Knowledge of steam systems, pressure vessels, or autoclave equipment would be advantageous * Experience supporting equipment used in investment casting or similar industrial processes is desirable * Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule * Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach Qualifications - Field Service Engineer * Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent preferred) * Full UK driving licence (essential) What We Offer - Field Service Engineer * Salary of £42,500 * Company bonus scheme * Company vehicle * Company phone * Day-based working hours * Opportunity to work with specialist industrial equipment * Supportive engineering team and training opportunities If you are a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in the field and supporting complex industrial equipment, this is a great opportunity to join a growing engineering business covering the South West of England.
