The Council has ambitious transformation plans as part of its mission and priorities, so we are looking for talented people to join our friendly and highly experienced IT Projects Team in taking our exciting journey of transformation forward.
Role Overview
This is a technical role which encompasses the design, development (programming), testing, implementation and provision of ongoing support to our key in-house Database Systems (predominantly Oracle Databases, Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX) that are critical to the provision of Council services. This involves collaborating with senior system users and other stakeholders to improve ways of working across the Council and help them achieve their objectives in ensuring that Council Services are delivered as effectively as possible to local citizens.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, implement and support in-house Oracle Database Systems, Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX applications.
* Collaborate with senior system users and stakeholders to improve processes and deliver efficient solutions.
* Provide ongoing support and maintenance for critical council services.
Qualifications
* Level 3 (e.g., A-Level, BTech, AVCE, etc.) or higher qualification in Information Technology or Software Development, or relevant professional experience.
* Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Training and Development
Training will be provided in house to successful candidates by our Senior Software Developers.
