You will be an important part of the Fleet & Transport team as you will play a vital role in ensuring skilled technicians are available to keep SWISCo’s fleet of vehicles and machinery in fully compliant and working order.
This role involves learning from skilled technicians on how to maintain and repair SWISCo fleet and machinery. It is essential that you attend all mandatory training sessions as directed by the training provider to successfully complete the apprenticeship.
From time to time, you may be required to work elsewhere within Torbay or perform different tasks outside your usual duties.
You may be expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions, assisting with breakdowns, and will be on your feet carrying or lifting. The sites involve uneven ground and hazards such as moving vehicles, plant, and machinery.
You will be provided with Personal Protective Clothing that must be worn at all times, along with training on safe work methods.
It is important that you are friendly and helpful to the people you meet, who are generally polite and appreciative of your work.
