Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
* Assist the head chef and senior sous in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
* Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
* Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
* Lead by example in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen environment.
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Train new team members on food preparation standards, safety procedures, and service protocols.
* Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
* Proven experience within a professional kitchen or hospitality setting.
* Culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
* Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
* Experience working in a busy restaurant environment with excellent organisational skills.
* Knowledge of various cooking techniques and menu development.
