We’re looking to grow our Product and Technology team by bringing on some of the best and brightest developers to help us expand our development capabilities.
Summary
As the Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will work alongside our engineering team, reporting to the Director of Engineering. The Electronics Hardware Engineer will design state-of-the-art software for Electric Vehicle charge points as part of a cross-discipline team developing smart charging solutions consisting of hardware, firmware, cloud servers, smartphone mobile apps and websites.
You will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of embedded electronics, including Radio Frequency communications, digital electronics, analogue signal processing and power electrics. Previous experience of developing embedded solutions is essential. You will be at the forefront of design and innovation, not only in our company but also within the Electric Vehicle Charging Industry as a whole.
This is an office-based role as you will be expected to work with the technical team and closely liaise with the management. Alongside your development work, you’ll be expected to uphold the detailed level of documentation and reporting that all our tech team deliver in support of new features and releases.
You Will Need
· A passion for technology
· Degree level education in the field of electronics hardware engineering or have previously held senior positions in similar roles
· Fully experienced in designing circuits, schematic capture, PCB layout and board bring-up for both digital and analogue circuits
· Knowledge of EMC design principles and designing to industry regulations
· Experienced with lab testing and measurement equipment such as power supplies, AC and DC loads, oscilloscopes and near-field probes
· An aptitude for problem solving
· Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language
· Have extensive industry experience as an electronics hardware engineer
Your Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for the architecture, design, development, bring-up, testing and maintenance of the product electronics
· Responsible for the EMC and environmental test and certification processes
· Support our internal and 3rd party production facilities with issues and improve production test processes · Provide 3rd level customer support by investigating bugs and resolving issues
· Prioritise work and manage delivery
Advantageous Skills/Experience
· Experience of developing IoT / Smart Products both mains powered
· Experience with Altium Designer
· Experience with STMicroelectronics, Espressif and Atmega microcontrollers
· Experience of Open EVSE / RAPI / EV Charging technologies
· Experience of radio engineering, EMC by design and antenna tuning
· Have experience with agile working methodologies
