Ainsworth Recruitment is seeking experienced, enthusiastic, dedicated, and a professional Registered Manager to lead a new children’s home in Western-SuperMare on behalf of our client, an Outstanding/Good Ofsted regulated organisation. Main Purpose of Role: As a Registered Manager, you will be accountable for delivering high-quality care to the children and young people residing in your home. This encompasses all aspects of care service delivery, strategic planning for the home's development, and all day-to-day management responsibilities. You will demonstrate the ability to build upon established principles and practice standards, proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of childcare standards within the organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring that the childcare provided is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for each young person. This requires practical leadership in childcare, alongside the effective organisation and support of your staff team to deliver exceptional care. This includes being personally available, supervising and mentoring staff, organising work patterns, facilitating care-focused training, and accessing appropriate services to enhance childcare practices within the home. Key Responsibilities: * Provide strong and effective leadership and management to the residential care team, fostering a positive, supportive, and collaborative working environment. * Recruit, induct, supervise, mentor, and appraise staff, ensuring their ongoing professional development and competence. * Develop and implement effective rota systems to ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix at all times, understanding this may include evening, weekend, and night shift duties as part of your overall responsibility for ensuring adequate staff presence. * Lead and contribute to team meetings, ensuring effective communication and information sharing. * Promote a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice within the team. * Manage staff performance, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally. * Ensure adherence to all organisational policies and procedures. * Oversee the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care that meets the individual needs of each young person. * Ensure the development, implementation, and review of individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans in collaboration with young people, families (where appropriate), and other professionals. * Champion the views, wishes, and feelings of the young people, ensuring they are central to all aspects of their care. * Act as the designated safeguarding lead for the home, promoting the safeguarding and well-being of all young people and adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures. * Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and other relevant agencies. * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making necessary adjustments to achieve positive outcomes. * Act as the Registered Manager with Ofsted, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including the Children’s Homes Regulations. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation. * Prepare for and participate in Ofsted inspections. * Develop and implement quality assurance systems. * Manage incidents and complaints effectively. * Ensure appropriate staff presence to meet the childcare needs of the young people in the home. * Manage the home's budget effectively. * Oversee the maintenance of the home's environment. Essential Criteria: Minimum of 2-3 years’ management experience within a children’s residential setting. Proven experience of working with young people aged 11-17 who exhibit challenging behaviour. NVQ Level 5 in Management or Minimum NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People. Excellent written and verbal communication skills & Strong leadership skills. Thorough knowledge of the Children’s Act 1989 and Care Standards Act 2000 relating to Children’s Homes Regulations. Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures. Commitment to the values and ethos of putting young people first. Ability to arrange your own work rota to meet the needs of the home. Successful candidate will need to be approved by the appropriate statutory body (Ofsted). What Our Client Offers: 22 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays Workplace Pension Scheme.
