Theatrical Public Relations Manager, EMEA, MGM Theatrical
Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Theatrical PR Manager to lead our theatrical slate across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This role will develop and execute comprehensive publicity strategies for all theatrical releases across EMEA territories, while also crafting corporate storytelling around Amazon MGM Studios' theatrical expansion across the region. You will serve as the senior PR strategist for the EMEA marketplace, working closely with our international teams while leading agency relationships and managing all aspects of theatrical PR campaigns across multiple territories. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of the European, Middle Eastern, and African entertainment and media landscape, established relationships with high-profile media and industry stakeholders across the region, and a proven track record of delivering successful theatrical publicity campaigns that drive cultural conversation and box office results.
Responsibilities
* Own end-to-end regional PR campaign accountability for theatrical releases across EMEA, ensuring alignment with global strategy while tailoring approaches to local market dynamics.
* Partner with global leadership to develop and localize strategic PR plans from greenlight through release.
* Serve as the primary EMEA point of contact for regional PR teams, translating global priorities into actionable regional strategies and communicating local market insights to global decision-making teams.
* Drive title-specific and franchise/brand-level PR strategies across the full Amazon MGM Studios theatrical portfolio.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local territory PR teams across UKFIGS (UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain) and additional EMEA markets.
* Drive cross-territory collaboration and idea-sharing mechanisms—establishing regular forums, toolkits, and best-practice frameworks.
* Represent local campaign needs (editorial assets, content, talent access, promotional opportunities) to PR leaders.
* Lead the expansion of global PR initiatives by sharing learnings to drive box-office growth.
* Ensure that all territories are aligned on strategy and resourced appropriately.
* Provide strategic counsel to leadership and cross-functional teams on cultural nuances and market-specific opportunities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive synergies and identify tentpole PR moments.
* Oversee the planning and execution of PR events, press tours, international junkets, set visits, and stunts.
* Lead regional festival strategy.
* Own and manage the EMEA publicity budget ensuring fiscal discipline and maximum ROI.
* Provide campaign updates to senior leadership, including progress against KPIs, territory-level performance, and risk escalations.
* Champion a culture of innovation—proactively sourcing and piloting new technology.
* Mentor and provide guidance to team members, and agencies across the region.
Qualifications
* Experience in professional communications or public relations.
* Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages.
* Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.
* Bachelor's degree or industry equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
* Extensive entertainment publicity experience with significant focus on international/EMEA theatrical campaigns; with demonstrated leadership of multi-market publicity strategies.
* Strong relationships with entertainment media, talent representatives, critics, festival programmers, and industry stakeholders across multiple EMEA markets.
* Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues.
* Experience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages.
* Experience measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of PR programs.
* Extensive theatrical publicity experience at a major studio, entertainment company, or leading international PR agency.
* Established relationships with talent agencies, publicists, festival directors, and exhibition partners across EMEA.
* Deep familiarity with EMEA media landscapes, cultural nuances, and best practices across multiple territories.
* Fluency or professional proficiency in one or more EMEA language beyond English.
* Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape and cultural trends across EMEA.
* Experience working across theatrical and streaming windows.
* Understanding of box office metrics and the theatrical marketplace across EMEA.
