Using Cerner/SSC to update patient details and register patient attendance.
To follow necessary procedures to ensure clinical / nursing staff are aware of the patient's arrival.
Patients will be directed to the correct waiting area by reception staff.
Ensure all appointments are in the correct episodes and make corrections if necessary.
Escalate to services where outcomes & attendances have not been recorded.
Deal appropriately, calmly, and courteously with telephone enquiries regarding appointments and make necessary amendments.
Provide advice and guidance to patients, relatives, staff, and healthcare colleagues on appointments and Trust Services.
Work as part of the team supporting the Ophthalmology Department and assisting staff in providing an effective service.
Act as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the Ophthalmology Department.
Provide administrative support for Clinical staff and the Clinical Office Administration Team.
Be proficient in Cerner and other hospital computer systems as required.
Liaise with a cross-section and multidisciplinary team of staff to ensure effective communication and up-to-date systems.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and highly motivated Receptionist within our Ophthalmology Department for a full-time contract.
You will work on a busy Ophthalmology Reception based at Ashford Hospital and will be the first point of contact for patients and medical staff.
You need to be organized and capable of managing busy clinics and demanding situations.
If you have strong customer service skills, excellent clerical and IT skills, and can communicate effectively with both patients and staff, we look forward to hearing from you.
