Role Title:
Product & Proposition Lead – Cards (Embedded Finance)
Role Purpose:
Lead the strategy, design, and execution of a card-based proposition within an embedded finance ecosystem, driving growth, customer adoption, and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Ownership-
* Define and execute the end-to-end cards strategy (credit/debit/virtual)
* Build a scalable cards business
* Identify new revenue streams across embedded finance use cases
Product & Proposition Development-
* Lead product ideation, design, and roadmap
* Translate market opportunities into commercial card propositions
* Own go-to-market strategy for new launches
Cards & Payments Expertise-
* Deep understanding of:
* Authorisation flows
* Scheme rules (e.g. Mastercard / Visa)
* Interchange, settlement, disputes
* Manage relationships with:
* Issuers / BIN sponsors
* Processors
* Networks
Embedded Finance & Partnerships-
* Build propositions for partners embedding card products
* Work with fintechs, platforms, and merchants
* Drive BaaS / embedded card use cases
Leadership & Stakeholder Management-
* Partner with senior executives and board-level stakeholders
* Lead cross-functional teams (product, tech, compliance, commercial)
* Influence internally and externally
Delivery & Execution-
* Oversee end-to-end product launches
* Ensure regulatory and scheme compliance
* Drive performance metrics (activation, spend, approval rates)
Key Requirements:
Experience-
* 15+ years in cards / payments
* Proven track record building or scaling a cards business
Experience in:
* Issuer side (bank) OR
* Network (e.g. Mastercard/Visa) OR
* Fintech (issuer processor / embedded finance)
Technical / Domain Expertise-
* Strong knowledge of:
* Card lifecycle
* Authorisation & clearing
* Scheme economics
* Experience launching:
* Credit cards / debit cards / virtual cards
Commercial & Leadership-
* Experience working with C-suite stakeholders
* Strong product ownership mindset
* Leadership of large-scale initiatives or teams
Nice to Have-
* Embedded finance / BaaS experience
* Exposure to modern tech stacks / APIs
* Experience with fintech partnerships
London in office 1-2 days per week.
