This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children succeed academically and socially. Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support students in the classroom, helping them to stay engaged and make progress in their learning. You may support the whole class, work in small groups, or provide 1:1 assistance, particularly to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those needing extra help. Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant: Collaborate with the class teacher to support the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons. Assist in the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of teaching resources. Promote and maintain positive behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy, fostering a respectful and supportive classroom environment. Observe and record student progress, contributing to assessment and planning discussions with teaching staff. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, with particular attention to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety regulations. Role Requirements: A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is advantageous. A good understanding of the curriculum and classroom expectations. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative when needed. Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
