Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Permanent, term time only plus TED days

35 hours per week

Scale 2 (3-4) - £24,796 – 25,185 pro rata

Catshill First School & Nursery is welcoming, positive and inclusive. The core purpose of the federation is to provide a nurturing community that challenges all to succeed. You will join a positive and extremely caring staff with a ‘can do’ attitude to change and development.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Receptionist to join our school. The successful candidate will require the ability to prioritise and manage a frequently changing workload, possess good organisational skills, develop good working relationships with the Administration team and will be a responsible and reliable individual.

Key Qualities and Accountabilities:

1. strong communication skills and excellent team player
2. meticulous attention to detail
3. effective organisational, problem solving and multitasking abilities
4. proficiency with technology.
5. excellent customer service skills, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm and friendly, even in stressful situations, to ensure a welcoming and efficient front desk experience
6. work closely with other staff members to ensure a positive school environment
7. maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate inappropriate training activities and support staff in their development and training
8. undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job
9. be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection and reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Both Catshill Middle School and Catshill First School have recently joined the Spire Church of England Learning Trust. This is an exciting time for both schools and all staff. The Spire Trust currently has 6 schools with the joint aim of raising standards and benefiting the children and families the schools serve. The Trust team provides excellent support, enables extensive networking and offers continued career development opportunities and training.

We are also fortunate to be federated with Catshill Middle School which provides us with excellent opportunities for effective transition with our main feeder school and opportunities for staff collaboration.
