The opportunity:
Due to a period of sustained business growth, we are seeking to recruit a Designer, working as part of the Commercial department, to design and specify bespoke planting schemes for state-of-the-art office spaces to win new business. To clearly understand a client’s brief and bring that to reality, including variables like aesthetics, costs, and service levels, whilst balancing the horticultural requirements of plants with the desires of the client. As part of the team you will be involved in design and architect based quotations.
Location & Hours:
The role is permanent and based out of our beautiful HQ in Henham (CM22 6AA), enjoying a rural location, where lunch is provided onsite daily and ample parking. Working hours are 40 hours per week and we offer agile working whereby you can work 1 day from home.
Key deliverables:
* Work closely with the Commercial and Sales Managers in producing designs and specifications that meet the clients' vision
* 100% accuracy of specifications and correct selection of plants that will be suitable for the environments using agreed portfolio
* Produce proposals that have best in class biophilic designs, which meets and exceeds clients’ expectations
* Estimate costs of designs
* Work closely with colleagues in your Platinum team to assist reaching your overall team sales target
* Keep up to date with market trends and popular design themes and working closely with company buyer and internal Horticultural Specialist to achieve best production selection and lead times for clients
Requirements
* Highly organized individual, able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
* An eye for design and attention to detail
* Commercial acumen
* Excellent communication skills internally and externally
* CAD/Design skills
* Understanding of project management processes
* A willingness to learn all things horticultural (prior knowledge is a bonus but not essential)
* Experience working with client proposals and quotes
* Experience working directly with clients (e.g. customer service/ customer facing roles)
* Experience of working in/ with the fit-out industry is desirable
