JOB TITLE: LAMINATOR - COMPOSITES
HOURS: 40 hour per week, Monday to Friday
DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
LOCATION: Coventry, Westwood Business Park
REPORTING TO: Head of Advanced Manufacturing
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To supply composite laminates to predetermined parameters via layup books and to feedback on best practices in the layup on new components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
* To help develop layups on new components and feedback into the engineering team.
* Layup tooling and components in CFRP and GRP.
* Work on R and D projects to help develop de-bulking of pre-preg materials
* Responsible for own work area 5's housekeeping and local tool equipment maintenance
* Monitor own work area, stock levels and interfacing with the Supervisor to ensure consistent part availability for production
* Working with and supporting other team members and departments in ensuring consistent throughput and achievement of overall production targets
HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
* Experience in both structural and non-structural components with a good understanding of producing A-class surface components.
* Laminating CFRP Tooling and components experience with knowledge of over moulding inserts i.e. Rohacell, honeycomb, threaded and machined inserts.
* Mechanical aptitude, competent in the use of hand tools
* Very good attention to detail and quality focused
* Previous experience of working to repeatable tight deadlines
* Familiarisation with assembly of materials, including metals and carbon fibre composites.
DESIRABLE:
* Experience in the use and manufacture of Bladder bags.
* Experience of automotive/carbon product quality assurance systems (5S, TPM, KPI's).
* Confident to work alone or play a supporting role within the project team.
