Description We currently have a vacancy for a part time primary teacher to cover primary 6 on Thursday and Friday. This involves working alongside another member of staff. St Marks Primary School is in the south- east of Edinburgh. We are an associated Primary School of the St. Thomas’ cluster. We have close working links with St. Peter’s RC Primary, St. Mary’s RC Primary and Holy Cross RC Primary and St. Thomas’ RC High School. The staff consists of a Head Teacher, a Principal Teacher, 10 class teachers and 1 part time Additional Support for Learning Teacher. In the nursery there are 2 Senior Early Years Officers, 5 Early Years Officers, 14 Early Years Practitioners, 3 Early Years Assistants, 2 Early Years Domestics and a part-time administrator. Our support staff includes a Business Manager, School Administrator, Clerical Assistant, Facilities Officer, P1 Early Years Practitioner and 7 Pupil Support Assistants. Our nursery opened in January 2023 and provides 1140 hours all year places. The current school roll for Primary 1-7 classes is 162 and they are formed into 7 classes. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
