As a Management Accountant, you will:
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
* Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast; provide variance analysis with insightful commentary.
* Collaborate with department heads to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
* Produce KPI reports and dashboards for operational and financial metrics.
* Support the Finance Director in financial planning and strategic analysis.
* Reconcile key balance sheet accounts monthly.
* Maintain and improve financial systems and processes for accuracy and efficiency.
* Assist in preparing year-end accounts and liaising with auditors.
* Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
* Drive process improvements, particularly in cost allocation and job profitability reporting.
Candidate requirements:
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar management accounting role.
* Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
* Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in transport, logistics, or vehicle recovery industry (preferred but not essential).
