Overview
The Doctors' Assistant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the care of frail older patients, contributing to timely assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. The role involves both clinical and administrative support to medical staff, helping to improve patient flow and experience.
Responsibilities
* Assist doctors, nurses and therapists with patient care and discharge planning.
* Participate in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of doctors and a supervising consultant body.
* Work autonomously when appropriate, using judgment and initiative, supported by relevant training.
* Manage clinical and administrative tasks without involvement in medication transcription or prescription.
* Be available to work shifts that meet service needs, including weekends and bank holidays if required.
Qualifications
* Desirable experience in caring for older adults, including those with frailty, dementia and complex needs.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Self‑motivated with the ability to exercise judgment and initiative.
