Job Title:Patent Attorney

Location:Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary:Up to £85,000 dependent on skills and experience plus executive benefits

What you’ll be doing:

* Supporting the creation and management of an appropriate patent portfolio for the business, most particularly through the harvesting of new inventions and the drafting and prosecution of patent applications
* Contributing to the maintenance of workflow processes and systems necessary to support, within the patents team, the capability to manage a patent portfolio in technologies relevant to the Group
* Building effective relationships at all levels within the business so as to become an integral and essential part of the business’ value proposition
* Identifying, analysing and prioritising core legal issues, explaining these effectively and understanding their relative significance
* Delivering the highest standards of IP advice and support in a timely and cost-effective manner
* Contributing effectively to business performance in an advisory capacity, providing advice in simple language that is easy for the business client to understand
* Providing training on matters of law and policy to various functional and business areas
* Applying legal policies professionally and consistently
* Using external counsel efficiently

Your skills and experiences:

* Experience in patent drafting, prosecution and management
* Wide experience working with clients or businesses across a wide range of patent matters
* Chartered Patent Attorney or European Patent Attorney, and preferably dual qualified
* Possess a good degree in a scientific, technological or engineering subject, or have gained technical experience leading to equivalent knowledge
