Working Hours: 37 hours, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, with a 4:30pm finish on Friday

About the Role
North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners led by Waythrough, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our North Yorkshire Horizons service in Scarborough, which offers individualised support packages for people who are experiencing problematic drug and alcohol use.
What You’ll Do
The role will be embedded within our multi-disciplinary Multiple Disadvantage Outreach Model (MDOM) team, working proactively to engage with individuals experiencing a range of different complexities and vulnerabilities, delivering a variety of harm reduction interventions on an outreach basis, and working towards supporting a small caseload of these cases towards engaging with wider treatment provision and support.
As directed by the Project Manager and Lead Practitioner, the position will be an integral member of the dynamic multi agency team, using their abilities and skills to:
1. Deliver effective harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange, Blood Borne Virus interventions and advice around injecting related issues
2. Promote harm reduction, public health initiatives, messages and campaigns
3. Work with multi-agency partners to reduce the harms and comorbidities multiple disadvantage can bring
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
4. Proven experience of being able to engage with people.
5. An understanding of the issues that people face in their everyday lives, in regard to drug and alcohol.
6. Knowledge of completing service user assessments including comprehensive and risk assessments.
7. A level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
8. Good IT skills.
9. Driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.
