Job Summary: The candidate will be partially based in the office (location to be agreed following appointment) and partially on site, and will report directly to the Senior Asset Planning Engineer in the Asset Planning Maintenance Team. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Work closely with Senior Asset Planning Engineer for the prioritisation and identification of Water and Wastewater process sites with Asbestos. Be able to review Asbestos Risk Assessment Surveys carried out by others and devise an Asbestos strategy for that building / site to bring it up to Health & Safety and other statutory legislation standards. Scoping out the requirements for existing Asbestos management control, remediation works including removal and disposal of Asbestos to relevant statutory legislation. Be able to conduct an Asbestos risk assessment survey on existing process site buildings and identify deficiencies with Health & Safety and Building Regulations compliance. Be competent in Asbestos Safety and Management. Be competent in auditing Asbestos remediation works on site. Play a key role in stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders. Performing other such duties in relation to work and asset management as required. Establish an Asbestos Register. Key Requirements: Relevant engineering or scientific qualifications to third level, Asbestos or relevant Health & Safety Qualification. Minimum 7 years’ experience working in the area / management of Asbestos Remediation and Standard Operating Procedures for areas with existing Asbestos where work activity is on-going. Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and statutory compliance with respect to Asbestos and materials containing Asbestos. Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Develop strategic relationships and promote cross-functional collaboration. Lead a culture of change and continuous improvement. Manage and guide teams to deliver and provide coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in others. Secure and compare information from multiple sources to identify issues, committing to an action after weighing alternative solutions against decision criteria. Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
