12 Month Contract: likely to be extended
37 Weekly Hours: Monday – Thursday 08:00–16:30, Friday 08:00–13:00 (Some Flexibility Offered)
Up to £51.30p/h or £37.80p/h PAYE (Depending on experience)

As an Engine Performance & Emissions Engineer, you will be working in a globally respected engine manufacturer backed by a Fortune 100 organisation, contributing to products used in critical power‑generation applications across more than 150 countries!
In this role, you will develop, optimise and validate engine performance and emissions calibrations while working hands‑on within test environments. You will be translating product objectives into technical execution, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high‑quality engineering outcomes that directly influence product capability, performance and compliance.
What the Engine Performance & Emissions Engineer Will Be Doing:
Developing and validating diesel engine performance and emissions calibrations
Supporting and executing engine performance and emissions test activity
Translating product performance objectives into technical requirements and validation plans
Conducting failure analysis and support defect resolution activities
Carrying out mechanical and software-based verification and validation work
Producing clear, high-quality technical reports and documentation
Supporting occasional overseas travel when required by project needs
What the Engine Performance & Emissions Engineer Will Need:
Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant experience
Practical experience in engine performance & emissions calibration
Knowledge of global emissions regulations, measurement techniques and emissions hardware
Understanding of diesel engine systems (cooling, lubrication, air handling, etc.)
Experience with engine component validation
3+ years of relevant industry experience (Automotive, Industrial, Power Generation, or similar internal combustion engine sectors)
Desirable:
Experience with Vector CANape and high‑speed data capture systems
Knowledge of hardware matching, fuel system optimisation, and control systems
Experience with large engine platforms or aerospace turbine/turbojet development
