Responsibilities
* Provide engineering design input to new products and provide engineering support to the existing product range by assessing technical queries and providing engineering solutions.
* Liaise with internal JFD departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
* Sourcing suitable components and materials when required and creation of part numbers and bill of materials.
* Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports.
* Checking detailed electrical drawings and documentation, adherence to engineering and company standards and processes and compliance to internal and external standards & regulations.
* Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.
* Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required.
* Accountability and responsibility as technical checker of drawings and documentation generated in support of the electrical engineer role.

Qualifications and Experience
* Proven electrical and electronics design skills.
* Skilled in generating design calculations.
* Competent in the use of engineering design software tools/CAD packages.
* Knowledge of design standards.
* Previous product design experience, particularly DC systems, is advantageous.
* Ideally with experience from within a Graduate Engineer position.
* Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
* Electrical and Electronics engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
* Experience working to marine, defence standards and class society rules (mainly LR and DNV).
* Ability to pass security clearance for this role and have the right to work and reside in the UK.
