Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (ASAP Start) Location: Harborne, Birmingham Contract Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications About the Role: Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist school in Harborne. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 11 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of associated needs including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in making a lasting difference in the lives of neurodivergent learners. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement EHCPs Assist with daily classroom activities, structured routines, and transitions Create an inclusive, respectful and safe learning environment Promote independence and life skills where appropriate We are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (particularly ASD) Is calm, patient, and resilient under pressure Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills Holds an enhanced DBS check (or is willing to obtain one)Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) Why Join Us?
