Position: Civil Estimator
Engelberth Construction is seeking a Civil Estimator who provides expertise and support to the preconstruction and operation teams related to civil and site infrastructure work.
The responsibilities include:
1. Developing estimates at all phases of design.
2. Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process for CM and hard bid projects.
3. Maintaining the civil estimating database.
4. Providing internal coordination with other team members related to civil and site-related work (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and other risk management efforts).
5. Supporting operations teams with site-related issues and business development efforts by assisting with RFP responses.
6. Performing civil and site-related material takeoffs.
7. Coordinating with equipment and material vendors for current pricing.
8. Developing cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software.
9. Understanding subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists.
10. Developing subcontractor bid packages directing specific trade work scopes.
11. Reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information.
12. Discussing estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design team members.
13. Providing constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers.
14. Developing cost reduction strategies and evaluating value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact.
Candidate Requirements:
* 5+ years of design experience or equivalent years of civil and site-related subcontractor estimating experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
* Desire to learn digital take-off and estimating software.
* Experience in Commercial Construction is a plus.
