Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our reception/administration team. As well as being the point of contact for patients when booking appointments, you will also be responsible for handling queries and liaising with our clinical team. There is a real opportunity for development and growth for the right candidate with the right attitude.
This is a PCN role where you may be required to cross site work.

About us
Our team of receptionists are multi-skilled and are trained to cover each other's roles for variety.
The team support 10 GPs, 10 Allied Health Professionals and 7 members of our treatment room.
Full training will be given so previous experience in a GP surgery is not essential, but experience of working in a customer facing role would be most advantageous.

9. Dealing with patient medical records in an efficient and confidential manner, acceptable to the Practice
10. To be willing to be trained and become proficient in the use of the clinical system (EMIS Web).

Duties & Requirements
13. Reception duties will require the use of a number of skills to ensure efficiency of the appointments system and to allow the monitoring of the flow of patients into the consulting and treatment rooms
14. To deal with patients requiring urgent appointments in a way that ensures they are seen in a logical and timely manner
15. Be aware of practice policies and procedures for all elements of your role
16. Advise patients of relevant charges for private work and to accept and deal with payments adhering to the practice policies
17. Deal with all patient queries and requests for assistance, efficiently and politely
18. Deal with the emergency line for home visits and record all relevant information for the duty doctor
19. Be proficient at the repeat prescribing procedures
20. Action requests for patient transport as necessary
21. Ensure reception, waiting room and consulting rooms are kept clean and tidy after each surgery session.
22. Become familiar with all routine aspects of the clinical computer system and be willing to enter data, as instructed by senior staff
23. To ensure that all medical records are accurate and as per practice policies and procedures
24. To ensure that correspondence, reports, results etc are filed correctly, accurately and in a confidential manner, either electronically or paper records
25. To assist, when requested, in arranging appointments for patients who are recalled to the practice for regular health checks and reviews to meet our practice targets
26. To organise patient referrals to secondary care using the current electronic system or preferred method
27. To abide by all Health and Safety regulations
28. To comply with all in-house rules as set out in the Employee Handbook

29. GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths
