Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Sheffield (S5, S9)
Pay rate: £460 -£600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you someone who can inspire, guide, and support students to make positive choices and improve their behaviour?
GSL Education are delighted to welcome a committed Behaviour Mentor to schools throughout Sheffield, supporting learners in the S5 and S9 areas who need extra guidance, structure, and encouragement.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students to help them manage behaviour, develop self-discipline, and build confidence, while contributing to a positive and structured school environment.
Core Responsibilities:
* Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
* Implement behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
* Work one-to-one or in small groups to build resilience, confidence, and self-regulation.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students’ needs.
* Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and behaviour patterns.
* Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally in an educational or mentoring role, suitable for a Behaviour Mentor position.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
* A proactive and professional approach to behaviour management.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A responsible attitude towards safeguarding and student welfare.
