Right now, we are looking for a Peer Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health and Complex Needs Service at Coxley House.
What will I be doing?
The main purpose of the role is to provide excellent quality support and interventions to clients with mental health needs who require early intervention and prevention support. You will support clients throughout their time in service and empower them with skills to cope independently. You will carry out support and interventions in line with organisational values and the ethos of recovery and co-production, as well as in line with policies and procedures.

You need to demonstrate the core skills required for this role and align with our values and mission. You don't need to meet all criteria immediately; a willingness to learn is key. We value lived experience of the areas we support, so please mention this if applicable in your application.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have lived experience of mental health care pathways, including emergency department attendance, acute admissions, and engagement with community mental health services. They should understand the challenges faced by individuals with diverse mental health conditions and communicate effectively while providing compassionate, respectful support. Building and maintaining trusting relationships with service users, carers, peer workers, and professionals is essential. Candidates should have excellent listening and verbal communication skills to engage with individuals in crisis and collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies, both face-to-face and over the phone. Knowledge of local mental health recovery tools, wellbeing resources, and support services is required, along with the ability to assess needs, risks, and aspirations and provide accurate, empathetic signposting.
