Graduate Quantity Surveyor - 2026 - UK Wide

We’re excited to open applications for our 2026 Graduate Programme, starting in September. This is your opportunity to build a meaningful career where your work contributes to healthier, greener, and more inclusive places for people to thrive.

Over two years, you’ll gain hands-on experience, structured learning, and the support of mentors who care about your growth. You’ll develop the technical and interpersonal skills to help you succeed and make a lasting impact.

This role sits within our Infrastructure operating unit, supporting our projects in various locations across the UK. Current projects include the A428 upgrade between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts, Network Rail’s Northwest & Central framework and Anglian Water’s capital programme in Peterborough.

What you\'ll do

* Assist with contract administration and commercial reporting.
* Accurately input and manage data in contract management systems.
* Certify and process contract change control by logging change notices, obtaining approvals and quantifying cost/time impacts.
* Keep detailed cost ledgers, reconcile site and procurement records and assist in cost negotiation and agreement with subcontractors.
* Actively engage with the Skanska Graduate Programme for professional development towards chartered status.

What you\'ll bring to the role

* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Commercial Management or equivalent (RICS accredited).
* Familiarity with commercial IT systems (e.g., Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise) and proficiency with spreadsheets for costing, data manipulation and basic modelling.
* Solid understanding of measurement and estimating (take-offs, cost checks, bills of quantities or schedule of rates) and awareness of contract variation, notices and claims processes.
* Clear written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, team-working mindset and active pursuit of professional accreditation.
* Driving licence or plan to obtain one within the first year of work; site visits across the UK.

Note: this role requires visits to sites across the UK.

What we offer

* You will join a community of 100+ graduates and apprentices, with opportunities to build networks and collaborate across the business.
* Support and guidance from experienced leaders and teams, plus development pathways to help you achieve professional accreditation — we cover membership expenses for the professional body of your choice.
* Regular professional and social events.
* Opportunities to volunteer at least one day per year.
* Employee networks including Women’s, Ability, Pride, O.N.E, Military, and Mental Health & Wellbeing.
* My Rewards discounts and cycle to work scheme.
* Wellbeing support through our employee assistance programme and mental health ambassador network.

Programme start date: September 2026. Interviews: Assessment Centres will be held in person during the week of 15 December 2025.

Equal opportunities We value diversity and strive to create inclusive teams — we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and protected characteristics.

Flexible working and reasonable adjustments Please ask about flexibility at interview and we will explore what is possible for the role. If you need adjustments during the recruitment process, contact emergin.g.talent@skanska.co.uk.
