We are currently recruiting for a Livestock Identification Assistant Manager to support the effective management and development of livestock identification operations across the Fane Valley Stores Network.
The Role:
1. Support the Livestock Identification Manager in driving sales growth, profitability, and new business opportunities;
2. Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, industry bodies, and key stakeholders;
3. Help deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer queries efficiently;
4. Assist with stock control, production processes, quality standards, and continuity of supply;
5. Support staff training, development, and operational planning to meet business needs;
6. Identify and promote new sales opportunities, marketing campaigns, and product initiatives;
7. Provide technical guidance on livestock identification products, legislation, and best practice;
8. Support the maintenance and development of laser printing systems, associated software, and production methods across all locations;
9. Ensure compliance with financial, health & safety, GDPR, and industry regulatory requirements.
The Person:
10. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in livestock identification, retail operations, customer service, or a similar commercial environment;
11. Good knowledge of livestock identification products, agricultural practices, or the wider farming industry;
12. Demonstrable ability to support the delivery of excellent customer service and resolve customer queries effectively;
13. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy and meet deadlines;
14. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and external stakeholders;
15. Experience of stock control, administration, reporting, or operational support within a busy environment;
16. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to identifying and fixing technical faults;
17. Competent IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and working with business systems or databases;
18. Awareness of compliance requirements, including health and safety, data protection, and relevant industry regulations;
19. A full current driving licence and access to transport, or the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role;
20. It is desirable to have an agricultural background, previous experience of livestock identification and knowledge of accountancy software and Excel spreadsheets.
