Pastoral Teaching Assistant – Dorchester

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Dorchester to recruit a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support to students who require additional pastoral and behavioural guidance throughout the school day.
The Role
* Supporting students who need extra help to remain engaged in lessons
* Working with pupils who are sent out of class to provide structured support and reflection
* Collecting students from lessons and escorting them to appropriate support areas
* Building positive relationships to help students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
* Working closely with pastoral staff, teachers, and safeguarding leads
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with young people in a pastoral, behavioural or support role (education, youth work, care, or similar)
* Calm, patient and resilient approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Able to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and consistent way
* DBS on the Update Service preferred, but Teaching Personnel can support with a new DBS application
