Job Summary
The Young People Key Worker plays a vital role in supporting and empowering young individuals in their personal development and well-being. This position involves providing tailored assistance to young people, ensuring their needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment. The Key Worker will work closely with families, educational institutions, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for the youth in our care.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement individual care plans that address the specific needs of each young person.
* Provide support in areas such as behaviour management, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
* Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
* Foster a supportive environment through active listening, encouragement, and guidance.
* Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
* Maintain accurate records of each young person's progress and any incidents that occur.
* Engage young people in recreational activities to promote physical health and social interaction.
* Provide transportation as needed for appointments or activities while ensuring safety during travel.
Qualifications
* Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar environments is highly desirable.
* Background in patient care or caregiving with a focus on young people is essential.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous.
* Knowledge of first aid practices is required; relevant certifications are preferred.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with young individuals and their families.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
* Previous experience in childcare or youth work is beneficial. This role requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
