Job Title: Operational Resilience Lead Contract Type: Permanent Location: Alderley Park or Edinburgh Hybrid Working Style: 50% from home / 50% office based Closing Date: 18th February We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Resilience Lead to join our Resilience Management Office at Royal London. Working closely with local Important Business Service Owners and other Group Resilience Leads, the Operational Resilience Lead will be responsible for governing the full end-to-end resilience of services within their area. This includes ensuring the design, monitoring, assessment and implementation of operational resilience aligns to the operational resilience policy and ensuring this meets the Group’s resilience strategy, framework and governance standards. The role will also act as Business Continuity Champion for their relevant areas and will support the continuous enhancement of continuity requirements to ensure that the Group’s important business services are prepared to respond following a disruptive incident. The Operational Resilience Lead is essential to ensuring that the important business services that Royal London Group provides to its customers are resilient, thereby minimising risk of external customer harm, risk to firm safety and soundness or market harm. The Operational Resilience Lead will work closely with the Operations teams to monitor service resilience. More about the role: • Deliver all governance activities for the Group’s important business services are conducted within required timelines, with auditable evidence retained in line with the operational resilience policy. • Ensure embeddedness of resilience activity for the Group’s important business services through education and allyship of all governance and resilience requirements. • Conduct oversight of the Group’s important business services and report upon compliance at relevant Forums, such as the Operational Resilience Forum. • Escalate risks relating to the Group’s important business services and ensure that these are appropriately reported, understood and effectively managed. • Collaborate with the other Resilience Leads to ensure end-to-end important business service resilience is delivered or escalated where appropriate. • Act as regulatory SME in relation to operational resilience, ensuring expert knowledge of operational resilience regulation and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes. • Ensure threats and operational resilience vulnerabilities for Business activities (or activities impacting the Business) are identified, documented and effectively managed/mitigated. • Manage resilience inputs, communication and engagement regarding business change and investment decisions which may impact service resilience. • Attendance and assessment of supplier resilience at supplier site visits. • Where Group incident management is invoked by the Major Incident Command Centre, attend meetings as required by the MICC to report upon resilience impacts. • Manage all aspects of Business Continuity delivery for Group important business services More about you: • Expert knowledge of operational resilience regulation in the financial services industry, how our business operates and the internal resilience policies and frameworks. • Experience of working in enterprise-scale IT organisations in financial services or a similarly regulated industry • Analytical skills including problem-solving, data skills, and creativity. • Understanding of service resilience design and execution. • Understanding of Business Continuity Planning and IT Disaster Recovery. • Understanding of threat and risk management. • Experience of dealing with process / organisational change. • Excellent communication both written and verbal. • An individual with passion for designing resilience into everything we do. • Strong understanding of business structure and key business principles. • Strong senior stakeholder management skills, capable of managing interactions across the business areas.
