More Information

Skyborne Airline Academy are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail oriented individual to support the day‑to‑day financial operations within the aviation sector. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, supporting month‑end processes, and working collaboratively within a small Finance team.


Responsibilities

* Process purchase ledger invoices and expenses + ensure correct Nominal Ledger coding.
* Process Sales Ledger Invoices.
* Ensure that all invoices are appropriately approved.
* Assist with monthly cash flow forecast.
* Manage regular payment runs and ad‑hoc payments using Online Banking.
* Process monthly accruals and prepayments journals.
* Manage monthly intercompany reconciliation.
* Deal with supplier queries and reconcile supplier statements.
* Assist with production of month end and year end reconciliations.
* Manage payment runs using Online Banking.
* Process Bank and credit card reconciliations.
* Recommend improvements in efficiencies to systems.
* Monitor the Finance department email inbox and respond to queries.
* Assist with external audit queries.


Qualifications

* AAT Level 4 qualified (desirable).
* Highly motivated team player, able to work collaboratively within a small Finance team.
* Able to embrace organisational values and policies.
* Experienced in prioritising a high workload and able to flex and adapt during peak periods.
* Strong experience with accounting packages and small business accounting software.
* Experienced with Microsoft office, specifically Excel.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to adapt a proactive approach to problem solving.
* Well organised and analytical.
