JDRoss has partnered with a renowned company in the cable manufacturing sector, established for over 100 years and operating in more than 40 countries with over 250,000 employees.
They have recently secured approval for a project valued at up to £350 million and are seeking a Production Manager to support their new build.
Role Purpose
1. Manage the area of responsibility safely, complying with all Health & Safety, Environmental legislation, and Quality standards.
2. Oversee functional areas to deliver an optimized, efficient, and effective production process that meets or exceeds site KPIs.
3. Foster a world-class manufacturing and safety culture, applying continuous improvement methodologies to ensure profitable operations.
4. Own the training and development of the production team to achieve and maintain manufacturing excellence.
5. Implement and manage Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality processes to ensure compliance.
6. Promote an operational excellence culture.
7. Engage the organization to motivate and empower the team to achieve results.
8. Recruit, train, develop, and motivate staff to meet long-term operational plans.
9. Develop the 5-year site development plan aligned with corporate strategy.
10. Maintain relationships within the global SEI framework to ensure high organizational standards.
11. Enhance site infrastructure, equipment, and product portfolio within budget, time, and quality parameters.
12. Optimize machine utilization, manpower, shift management, and communication to produce quality products meeting production plans.
13. Manage and control costs for each production unit, setting and achieving budget targets and reporting variances.
14. Efficiently manage labor rota, absence, and overtime to boost productivity.
15. Manage and review production training to maximize operational efficiency and ensure safety and quality compliance.
16. Oversee maintenance resources to optimize plant, equipment, and facilities performance, including scheduling downtime and planned maintenance.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
1. Proven experience in manufacturing, engineering, or chemical processing environments.
2. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or equivalent preferred.
3. Strong commitment to Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
4. Leadership skills with drive and commitment to gain support from teams.
5. Decision-making ability in various situations.
6. Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Attention to detail and a focus on sustainable solutions.
8. Ability to build successful, effective teams.
9. Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills.
