Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as Housing Support Coordinators, Occupational Therapists, builders, surveyors, landlords, architects, and planning and building control teams to develop and implement suitable property adaptations. Provide technical guidance and support to service users and colleagues regarding building adaptations and related work. Conduct on-site visits and inspections at various stages of construction to ensure that all works meet required legal, design, and safety standards. Visit clients in their homes to assess needs and oversee building work as necessary. Prepare detailed cost estimates for eligible grants and support clients in gathering contractor quotations. Create technical layout drawings using appropriate software and prepare detailed schedules of work for use in tendering and contracting processes. Manage customer cases throughout the grant application process, including financial assessments and verifying eligibility, while identifying any required contributions from the service user. Work alongside building control officers to ensure that all necessary inspections are carried out during and after completion of the work. Maintain accurate manual and digital records and produce relevant correspondence as needed. Manage variations in project specifications and revised grant applications, ensuring effective communication with all involved parties and maintaining quality control throughout the construction process. Regularly review and update technical standards and costings in response to evolving regulations and best practice guidelines. Evaluate and authorise interim and final payments for completed grant-funded works. Provide support to other technical officers in their absence and ensure continuity of service across different locations as needed. Manage allocated resources and budgets in line with corporate procedures and financial regulations. Promote and contribute to initiatives focusing on best practices, sustainability, continuous improvement, equality, crime reduction, and employee well being. Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary control measures, reviewing them as needed when working conditions or hazards change. Work flexibly across multiple locations and attend meetings or training sessions as required. Undertake additional duties as assigned by management to support service delivery.
