About the Scheme

Pricing plays a key role in setting the cost of our insurance policies. The team analyse data, assess risks, and predict trends to ensure premiums are fair and competitive. By balancing customer needs with business goals, they help NFU Mutual stay profitable while offering great value to our customers. It's all about using insights and smart thinking to get the price right.

Our Pricing team is forward-thinking and innovative, using tools such as predictive modelling, machine learning, and advanced data analytics to support commercial growth projects, trend analysis, street pricing, and market benchmarking. They're also closely involved in strategic internal initiatives, helping shape the future of our business.

With a strong "grow our own" culture, we're dedicated to developing future leaders – whether your strengths lie in technical expertise or people management. You'll benefit from mentorship, continuous learning, and hands-on experience that will stretch and challenge you. Alongside this, you'll develop skills that align with NFU Mutual's My Development Framework – from technical expertise and problem solving to collaboration, communication, and customer focus – preparing you for a long-term career with us. There's also the chance to pursue professional qualifications in areas like Data Science, positioning you at the forefront of industry innovation. Join us and be part of a team that truly invests in your growth and success.

What you can expect

In our exciting 3-year scheme, you'll dive into various aspects of insurance pricing with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

* Extracting, cleaning, and analysing data for modelling purposes.

* Conducting complex analyses - like multivariate, root cause, and performance testing - to inform continuous improvement of our data and models.

* Refining and operating pricing models and reporting results to support informed business decisions.

* Developing rating logic that ensures effective pricing outcomes.

* Implementing quality control processes to guarantee that our models and data deliver the expected outputs.

* Preparing reports, communicating findings, addressing queries, and taking ownership of follow-up actions to provide excellent service to both the team and business stakeholders.

You'll work collaboratively on daily tasks while also having the chance to participate in exciting projects and change initiatives.

We'll support your career development with a structured plan that includes biannual performance reviews, each offering the potential for competitive salary increases and progression to the next level. Join us and shape the future of pricing

Application Process

If your application is shortlisted, you'll be invited to complete an online assessment designed to measure your potential for success, such as your ability to learn and solve problems. Should you be successful, you'll move on to a short video interview. The final stage will be an in-person assessment centre, where you'll participate in a variety of activities, including a group exercise, a role-specific exercise, and a skills-based interview. These are set to take place on 4th and 9th December.

Please note this vacancy may close at any time once sufficient applications have been received. Early submission of your application is therefore encouraged.

Your future

Throughout the scheme, you'll strengthen your core skills, earn qualifications, and develop essential competencies to set you up for a successful career. You'll be fully supported along the way, with a dedicated buddy and mentor, plus a strong network of current and former graduates. As you near the end of the scheme, a careers coach will be there to guide you in planning your next steps.

It's not all about work either. We encourage our graduates to get involved in extracurricular activities, from volunteering and organising charity or social events to representing NFU Mutual at industry events, all in line with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework.

What we're looking for

To join this scheme, you'll need to have achieved, or be on track for, at least a 2:1 degree. We welcome applications from a wide range of disciplines, not just STEM. If your studies – for example in economics, business, finance, geography, psychology, politics, sociology, philosophy, or even humanities subjects like history or linguistics – have equipped you with strong numerical, analytical, or problem-solving skills, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll have a passion for learning and a curious mind, and we'll also be looking out for:

* Teamwork and collaboration skills – essential for working alongside diverse teams to share insights and tackle pricing challenges.

* Communication skills – crucial for clearly presenting complex analyses and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

* Analytical skills – key for dissecting data sets and conducting sophisticated analysis, enabling you to identify trends and improve pricing models.

* Digital literacy – important for when learning our variety of tools and software, such as Emblem, Radar, 'R', SQL, and Python.

* Problem-solving ability – important for tackling complex challenges, thinking creatively, and finding practical solutions that add real value.

* Self-motivation and adaptability – vital for taking initiative on projects and adjusting to changes in a dynamic industry.

If you're able to bring these, we can teach you the rest.
