Client Procurement Manager – University of Birmingham
At Avendra International we're looking for a dynamic Client Procurement Manager to lead procurement services for the University of Birmingham and other key clients. This hybrid role blends strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on procurement expertise to deliver best-in-class service.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the dedicated procurement lead for UoB, managing supply chain, purchasing, and e-procurement systems (Pi).
* Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and performance.
* Provide on-site support at UoB two days per week, with flexibility for events and projects.
* Deliver training on Pi systems and support technical tenders with university teams.
* Identify growth opportunities, benchmark pricing, and negotiate competitive supplier agreements.
* Lead procurement strategy discussions and ensure successful supplier mobilisations.
* Drive client retention and intensification strategies, including expansion into non-food categories.
🧠 What You Bring:
* Account management experience in a foodservice or procurement environment.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* High proficiency in Excel and analytical thinking.
* Ability to manage priorities and influence stakeholders.
* Comfortable with hybrid working and UK travel.
🎓 Desirable Qualifications:
* CIPS certification
* A Levels or equivalent
