Position Overview
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term post designed to support both the Obstetric and Gynaecology services provided by the department. The successful candidate will join a team of 14 Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologists based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.
Location & On‑call commitment
The post is based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe within the Women’s and Children’s Division. The candidate may work at other Trust sites such as Victoria Infirmary, Northwich for Gynaecology outpatient clinics.
On‑call commitment to the non‑resident consultant rota is 1:12. Consultant of the Week responsibility will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on a 1:12 basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide obstetric and gynaecology clinical care within the department.
* Attend on‑call rota 1:12 for non‑resident consultant duties.
* Fulfil Consultant of the Week duties on specified days (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri).
* Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement activities.
* Deliver services at both Leighton Hospital and, when required, Victoria Infirmary.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must have full registration with the GMC including a License to Practice.
Job Plan
Job will be based on 10 programmed activities per week, with a 9 DCC/1 SPA split.
