Volunteer Art Class Host
Location: Stainbeck Church, Leeds
Commitment: Tuesdays 10am-12noon
Compensation: Volunteer (travel and printing expenses covered)
Role Summary:
Stainbeck Church is looking for a friendly, organised, and creative volunteer to host a community-based art class. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about the arts and community engagement. The host will play a key role in shaping the art sessions, supporting participants, and ensuring the smooth running of the group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the group to plan and schedule art class sessions
* Prepare and print worksheets, instructions, or reference materials for each activity
* Set up and tidy the space before and after each session
* Manage the "Pay As You Feel" donations collected during sessions
* Allocate funds between art materials, refreshments, printing/travel expenses, and church venue hire
* Monitor and track expenses, ensuring transparency and sustainability
* Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all abilities and backgrounds
Skills & Qualities:
* Passion for art and creativity (no formal qualifications required)
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Friendly, approachable, and inclusive in working with a diverse group
* Basic budgeting or cash-handling experience is helpful
* Self-motivated and reliable
Support Provided:
* Travel and printing costs reimbursed
* Guidance and support from the church staff or volunteers
* Opportunities to shape the direction of the group and grow with the role
