Consultant Anaesthetists (full time/ part time/ flexible working)
Applications are invited for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our dynamic team in a rapidly expanding organisation. You will provide general and regional anaesthesia for a range of surgical specialities including orthopaedics, general surgery and colorectal surgery. There is also a particular focus on our highly successful national orthopaedic programme supported by our Enhanced Recovery programme and extensive robotic surgical programme.
The Department of Orthopaedics is now one of the largest arthroplasty units in the United Kingdom, delivering over 30% of all hip and knee replacements for the NHS in Scotland, and approximately 45% of those by West of Scotland hospitals.
It is an exciting time to join NHS Golden Jubilee University Hospital. As part of a £80m Scottish Government investment, we are currently expanding orthopaedic and general surgery. This expansion will double our orthopaedic activity and increase general surgical activity by 160%. Our suite of 15 theatres is increasing to 26, opening in stages between 2023-2025.
Responsibilities
* Deliver anaesthetic services in theatre, pre‑assessment, support the Acute Pain Service and maintain an on‑call commitment.
* Provide general and regional anaesthesia for orthopaedics, general surgery and colorectal surgery, including the national orthopaedic programme, Enhanced Recovery programme and robotic surgical programme.
Qualifications
* Hold full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the register within 6 months of the interview date.
