The Lecturer/Assessor Groundworker/Civils Role: As our Lecturer/Assessor Groundworker/Civils, you willdeliver theory and practical teaching to learners and assess learners' competence. Responsibilities as our Lecturer/Assessor Groundworker/Civils will include: The following duties are not shown in order of priority or frequency, nor is the list comprehensive, but rather an indication of the type and level of duties expected of the post. Teach and assess on a range of programmes as required by the Directorate -Level 2 Groundworks qualifications, L2 Apprenticeship in Groundworks, adult and evening part time courses, with an excellent subject knowledge of brickwork, drainage, barriers, reinstatement of paths, block pathing & concreting. Act as Tutor and/or Course Lead to one or more groups of full time, Apprentices and/or part time students. Participate in the development of existing and new course programmes and assume responsibility for areas of work as appropriate. Fully participate in the development of the College's Course portfolio within Brick and Groundworks and related programmes. Participate in course team meetings, curriculum planning and materials development as appropriate. Assist with marketing and publicity of all courses within the Directorate as required. Attend parent, career functions and open days/evenings, some of which may be on a Saturday. Participate in the development and delivery of short course programmes. Act as mentor to new members of staff and give support to other new team members where appropriate, dependent on experience. Liaise with College, moderators, assessors, industrial bodies and employers as appropriate. Participate and conduct internal verification. Liaise with internal and/or external verifiers as appropriate. Carry out general duties attached to the post on the College premises. Teach at any of the Colleges locations. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Director of Learning or Directorate To accept responsibility for the implementation of the College's Equal Opportunities policy throughout all personal contacts in the College and within this area of responsibility. Order materials as required whilst negotiating prices and discounts Assist in the modernisation of workshops and facilities General administration relevant to the role As our Lecturer/Assessor Groundworker/Civils, you'll ideally have: Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years. Min of Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a Groundwork or Civil Engineering Experienced in Ground works, Domestic, commercial. Plant operation (digger, dumper etc) Professional experience in Brick, Groundworks or a Construction related field. Experience in behaviour management. Experience of leading a team. A proven track record of outstanding delivery.
