The post holder is responsible for providing administrative support for Medical Undergraduate education and teaching programmes for medical students on placement within the University Hospital Birmingham.
They will handle administration of specific subject block placements, OSCEs, and year placements. The post holder will collaborate with other Undergraduate Coordinators to ensure high-quality teaching and support for students during their placements in the Trust.
The role requires flexibility to cover other sites as needed and to work closely with counterparts across locations.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as a key liaison between the Medical School, Trust, consultants, and students regarding placements, timetables, allocations, and assessments. Maintain accurate student records, manage assessment forms, and coordinate information sharing with Medical Schools.
2. Coordinate student inductions, including creating timetables, information packs, and booking venues and tutors. Support teaching programmes by liaising with clinical staff, arranging cover, and recruiting tutors/lecturers.
3. Administer assessments and exams, including venue arrangements, examiner and patient coordination, paperwork, and logistics. Collect and analyze student feedback to inform improvements.
4. Contribute to curriculum development by liaising with Medical Schools, academics, and Trust staff. Maintain relationships with Trust departments, manage processes such as honorary contracts and supplies ordering.
5. Support students with welfare and daily issues, assist in teaching sessions and inductions, and ensure facilities and IT access are available. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
